We are looking for a caring, responsible and experienced Personal Caregiver / Elderly Companion to support an elderly gentleman living with his family in the Akersloot area, the Netherlands.

This is a long-term position for someone with experience in healthcare, elderly assistance, personal support, hospitality or a similar field.

The main responsibility is to assist an elderly gentleman with daily activities, provide companionship and ensure that his daily routine is comfortable, safe and well organised.

FREE accommodation is provided in the family home, including a private bedroom and bathroom.

Salary: €17.99 GROSS per hour, including benefits

Working Days: 3–4 days per week

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Personal Caregiver, you will support an elderly gentleman with his daily activities and help maintain a comfortable and organised home environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing and serving meals, snacks and drinks

Assisting with daily grocery shopping

Preparing medication according to the prescribed schedule and monitoring intake

Providing companionship and emotional support

Helping with everyday household tasks

Keeping the home clean, tidy and organised

Supporting the gentleman with his limited mobility

Assisting him when moving around the house when necessary

Driving him to family visits, appointments and other activities

Helping organise his daily schedule and appointments

Monitoring his general well-being and reporting any concerns to the family

Ensuring a safe, comfortable and supportive living environment

ABOUT THE PERSON YOU WILL SUPPORT

The elderly gentleman has limited mobility following several back surgeries.

He currently walks with crutches and can walk short distances independently.

He is still largely able to manage his own personal hygiene, including washing himself.

This position mainly involves daily living assistance, companionship, household support and organisation rather than intensive personal care.

We are looking for someone who is attentive, patient and able to take initiative.

REQUIREMENTS

EU NATIONALITY – REQUIRED

Valid Category B driving licence – REQUIRED

Previous experience in healthcare, elderly care, personal assistance, hospitality or a similar position

Caring, patient and responsible personality

Ability to work independently and organise daily activities

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Comfortable assisting an elderly person with limited mobility

Ability to prepare simple meals and perform household tasks

Reliable, trustworthy and respectful of privacy

Flexible availability for 3–4 working days per week

Willingness to work in a private family home

Available to start as soon as possible
