A dog groomer is responsible for the grooming of a dog. They do everything from brushing a dog's hair to cutting their nails. A few of the main duties of a dog groomer are talking with customers to select a grooming package, cleaning the dog's teeth, washing and shampooing the dog, and cutting the dog's hair. They also have to get the dogs to relax. Some of the jobs titles that a dog groomer could grow into are dog salon owner and dog stylist.
A dog groomer does not need any experience but should have a high school diploma . One of the most important skills that a dog groomer will have is their ability to work with any type of dog. Another skill is time management as the dog groomer will need to make sure that all dogs are groomed in any given day. They also need to be able to multitask by working with several different dogs.

Ability to lift dogs that weigh up to 50 pounds
Grooming abilities
Calming presence to sooth dogs
Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time
Ability to pass a background check
Great communication skills
Ability to work on a team
